RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1133264

People

(Reporter: dfghjkjhg, Unassigned)

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:5.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0
Build Identifier: TB 3.3a4pre (on Win7, 64 bit)

If I select a message in the Trash Folder and then (maybe accidentally) hit the [Del] key, the message disappears immediately without any warning/prompt whether I really want to delete this message (unlike e. g. MS Outlook does).

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select an e-mail in the trash folder and press the [Del] key
2. The message immediately disappears without any warning
Confirmed

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:7.0a1) Gecko/20110601 Thunderbird/7.0a1

bienvenu, do you know the history / is this "by design"?
I thought we used to confirm on delete of messages from the trash, but perhaps I'm getting confused with the deleting of folders from under the trash/empty trash confirmation.
Summary: Missing prompt before deleting messages via [DEL] button in trash\junk folders → Missing confirmation prompt before deleting messages via [DEL] button in trash\junk folders
In favour of this request, it seems problematic that we delete messages entirely without any prompt - no prompt when deleting msgs from folder, *and* no prompt for final deletion from trash.
This will finally be fixed by bug 1133264.
