Currently, for certain long file names viewed in the side panel of the source/diff viewer, ellipses are added before the file extension. This doesn't prevent wrapping in all cases, and aside from being somewhat of an impediment, is a little confusing. I'd prefer that the full filenames were presented and either allowed to wrap, or were cut-off in an obvious way and appeared in full immediately on mouseover.

Not really, no. The titles take around a second to appear and in Jetpack add-ons, for instance, you can have a dozen or more resource directories which all look the same except for the hidden bit at the end.
