For the Firefox 5 mobile launch on 6/22 can we get dnt.mozilla.org mobile friendly since that is on the the top features of the launch. It doesn't need to be fancy but it should be viewable on a mobile device.

Assigning to Jason.

Jason, can you review and come back with a time estimate? Will you need help from James or Anthony?

Thanks!

Cc-ing jsocol since he's the webdev contact for this site. If it makes more sense for Jason to do this "mobile friendly" work then by all means.

Sorry all. I replied too soon. Removing, Jason, James & Anthony.

James Socol is the webdev contact, so he should make these decisions.
OK, leaving this assigned to Jason, who's going to help out next week with some design work, then I'll implement that.
Summary: Make dnt.mozilla.org mobile ready → [Mobile] Make dnt.mozilla.org mobile ready
Here are some hi-fi mockups! The page:

http://people.mozilla.com/~jgrlicky/drop/mozcom/mobile_mockups/DNT/mobile_mozcom_DNT_v1.png

The page with IE9 instructions expanded:

http://people.mozilla.com/~jgrlicky/drop/mozcom/mobile_mockups/DNT/mobile_mozcom_DNT_ie9_v1.png

The page with a FAQ question expanded:

http://people.mozilla.com/~jgrlicky/drop/mozcom/mobile_mockups/DNT/mobile_mozcom_DNT_faq_v1.png

And finally, the PSD:

One thing to note is that the introductory text is quite long. Depending on the context the user is referred here from, it might be good to switch the paragraph order to make "Mozilla Firefox 4 offers a Do Not Track feature that lets you express a preference not to be tracked by websites." the first line, so that the user is informed about what DNT is right up front. Just an idea.

Thoughts on the mockups?
Looks good to me.

The only change I'd consider making is to make the "Do not track, Your Status: On/Off" appear towards the top of a page in a line of it's own so this piece of functionality appears more "appy" and less side-bar-editorial.

That's more like a "nice to have" to consider. In general I think this looks great!

I'm not too concerned with the long copy since DNT is a new concept that needs to be explained somewhere, somehow. If anyone has an idea on how to shorten that than by all means.

I agree, but maybe just making it full-width would work?

The first paragraph isn't about DNT at all. I'd consider reversing the order of the paragraphs everywhere.
Mayumi - Looks like there is a lot of copy on the page. It would be great to pull copy from this page and condense this message on both desktop and mobile view.

Also, not sure about the images (especially IE9 banner) and may want to discuss with you something more relevant to show mobile users -- perhaps even an install button.

Let's discuss this page briefly and your plans for it as it relates to desktop. Then I think we can make a few changes and optimize it for mobile.
Talked to Mayumi about this page and we're good to go (re the comments in comment 8) with one change: moving the "on/off" box to the bottom.
Looks good - James - can you implement this? We'd like to have this ready by the Firefox 5 launch on Tuesday. Will that be possible?

I'm on a plane on Sunday and at a conference all next week--I will do my best to have something by Monday morning.
Thanks!
It's not 100% complete, the instructions for each browser don't look quite like the mockups yet, but it's mobile-friendly and I'd rather get something deployed now and find some time this week to finish it out. Filed bug 665695 to push the updates so far. Leaving this open until the work is finished.
