User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 Since June 3, Sync fails consistently on my mac with "Unknown error". It works on my Ubuntu VM. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click on "Tools". 2. Ciick on "Sync Now" Alternatively, wait for sync to try to sync automatically. Actual Results: Sync fails with "Unknown error" and informs me it will retry the action, which fails again. Expected Results: Sync should not fail.

Please follow steps here: http://philikon.wordpress.com/2010/11/12/sync-in-firefox-4-0-beta-7/ to enable logging, restart, sync, then attach logs to this bug. Thanks!
Attached file Sync log.
My guess is that you have the "Keychain Services Integration" add-on installed. This doesn't implement an API that Sync requires. See Bug 614361. If that's true, I'll dupe this bug.
I do, but this problem started yesterday. I also tried this on another Mac (Mac Pro) which does not have the keychain services installed and this problem still occurs.
(In reply to comment #4) > I do, but this problem started yesterday. Most likely this machine never processed an incoming password record until yesterday. > I also tried this on another Mac > (Mac Pro) which does not have the keychain services installed and this > problem still occurs. Do you mean you saw "Unknown error" on the Mac Pro? If so, we can probably discount that -- it's the Sync equivalent of a car's "Check Engine" light. If you mean you turned on logging, synced on the Mac Pro, and verified that it showed something like: Error: Not yet implemented: searchLogins()' when calling method: [nsILoginManagerStorage::searchLogins] Stack trace: resource://gre/components/nsLoginManager.js:512 < PasswordStore__getLoginFromGUID() then I would be very surprised. Please clarify.
Summary: Sync fails with "Unknown error" → Sync: Error: Not yet implemented: searchLogins() inside PasswordStore__getLoginFromGUID

Please clarify. I have not turned on sync logging on this Mac Pro, but I will do so tomorrow morning when I get to work. Also, disabling the keychain services plugin gets rid of this error. Kaustubh
OK, thanks for clarifying. Duping this.
