In iCal, there is the possibility to add a caldav account with a link like that(root):
http://cal.com/caldav.php/dany.bouchard/
And it would be very useful to use permissions and see who shares its calendar(s).
Adding every calendars to Sunbird individually can be long to do. With permissions, if i add the Patrick's calendars to my iCal, if he decides to create and share to me a new one, i'll see it appears on my iCal.

Reproducible: Always

Thank you for reading.
We are working on something similar in the current Google Summer of Code. It doesn't go as far as that you can see all new calendars, but at least you get to choose which calendars to add when just entering the base uri.
Changing the summary a bit, note that fixing this bug requires the calendar accounts work by Demian and the Summer of Code work from Lennart.

Very nice it will be very cool, i've programmed a caldav server (davical), we just have 30 people on production and on windows machines, its very long to add each production's calendars. But when its done, its very useful!

Been over 2 years now, and all lightning does here on "Search for a calendar (CALDAV)" is "Please wait" forever. No idea what it's supposed to to,
Sorry, Search for a calendar" is the Caldav Search/Subscribe plugin, which pretty much fails.

Now that the calendar auto-discovery has actually landed in core, this is the next obvious step. Need to subscribe to the server/account and not the individual calendars, and have the calendars show up and go away as they do on the server.

Resetting assignee to default since the current assignee's Bugzilla account is disabled.
