Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 YFF35 Firefox/3.6.10
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 YFF35 Firefox/3.6.10

I thought, over-optimistically apparently, that I'd leave the Firefox deficiency behind upon purchase of a new top-of-the-line iMac. But I was, apparently, wrong.
For Firefox AGAIN goes dead when I'm in yahoo mail. When I'm done reading an email and want to delete it, Firefox fails to recognize that I've just clicked to delete it. So I must click the "inbox" link then delete it by checking the box before so doing.

Guess I'll go back to using just Safari and Camino. In my opinion, Camino is vastly superior to Firefox. "Bells & whistles" mean nothing to me compared to reliability and doing its job ... as Camino does infinitely better than does Firefox.

It seems the Camino project got the best talents of mozilla.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Go to yahoo mail.
2.Open an email.
3.After deleting maybe one or two, Firefox stops deleting them.

Actual Results:
Bottomline: Firefox engineers need to make Firefox more ADEQUATE to handle yahoo mail. There's no excuses when, with a brand new iMac, and just having downloaded the most advanced version of Firefox, it is not doing its job "out-of-the-box," so to speak.

Expected Results:
For it to be not working right almost immediately tells me mozilla engineers need to overcome programming deficiencies.

No need to advise me to do anything. Advise mozilla engineers to do it. I shouldn't have to do a damn thing but USE the browser. It should be usable and adept at handling yahoo mail OF ALL SITES! Tell me another website more users use than yahoo mail! If Firefox can't handle yahoo to virtual perfection, it has no business posturing itself as a world-class browser. Chrome doesn't have a problem with yahoo mail, Safari doesn't, nor Camino. Not even Opera! So why is it only Firefox that repeatedly ... with TWO Mac computers, manifests the same signs that it is inadequate to handle the world's most used website?
This is the same issue as the one in bug 658757. Bug can be set as Duplicate.

Reporter, what yahoo e-mail are you using? Is this issue reproducible if you use the Yahoo Mail Classic? Thanks
Summary: Bought new iMac 2 weeks ago, and Firefox gives the same problem I had on my old Mac G-4 → Yahoo Mail does not respond in Firefox after deleting some e-mails
I'm not sure this is a dupe of bug 658757, which is about crashes when reading Yahoo Mail Beta. The current bug is about mails that are undeletable.

I have experienced that myself with different versions of Firefox under GNU/Linux with new, clean profiles and Yahoo Mail Beta. I've been able to delete the mails by selecting them in the list and delete them, but the problem occurs if I open a mail and then try to delete it. The delete button is just dead for some mails, and it's always the same mails that are undeletable even if I log out/in or send/receive more mails. Even if I delete the mails from the list and move them back from Trash they are still undeletable when opened again. Unfortunately I have never figured out how to create such an undeleteable mail and I've never found out what they have in common.

Of course this *could* be some kind of pre-stage of the crashes in bug 658757 and bug 655660, but until further this sounds like a different problem to me.

Thanks for the notice. This bug should be set on NEW, then.

Sorry, I mistakenly duped the issue against wrong bug. The bug that should be duped against is bug 655660.

I'm still not 100% convinced that this Delete-button-is-dead bug is a duplicate of the Crash-when-deleting-mails-using-the-keyboard bug 655660, even if there's some degree of likeliness that they are related. Resolving bug 655660 hopefully resolves this bug as well, but that must be double-checked before eventually verifying this bug.
