Note: This is NOT a duplicate of 626365

Currently, but only since FF4, a link in a secondary window opened as tab will show the tab in the primary window and even create a primary window if none exists. In most cases this behavior is not desired.
Also see issue 626365 and duplicates, especially comment #18 in 626365 asking for the same addition.

The desired change is to have a way to reinstate the preferred behavior as it existed in FF releases before FF4.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enter the URL given into Firefox 4.x
2. Locate the link "Zur Konferenz" (page is in German, use search if needed)
3. Click the link, a secondary window appears showing a sports ticker
4. In the black "34. Spieltag" section locate the row "14.05. 15:30 Bayern München 2 : 1 VfB Stuttgart", this is a hyperlink
5. Right-click on text in that row and select "Open link in new Tab" from the context menu

Actual Results:
The new tab is opened in the primary window, not the secondary window.

Expected Results:
The tab should open in the secondary window.
Reason: in this case (and there are others) the primary window will be closed in most cases and only the secondary window is kept, mainly for size reasons and for the pages being designed and optimized to show in a secondary window. In this case no further navigation (menus, tool bar, address bar) is desired or necessary.

The proposal is to implement a hidden preference (about:config) that allows for reinstating the pre-FF4 behavior, which in my opinion should also be the default, but as long as there is a way to get FF back to a functional state it will be fine to keep the less desired FF4 behavior as default.
