User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 When I upgraded from fedora 14 to fedora 15, I got firefox 4.0.1 instead of the old firefox 3.6.something on fedora 14. The online edition of the Palm Beach Post which uses olivesoftware's Active Daily Paper, which uses flash, is no longer viewable in firefox 4.0.1. The URL provided above is to demos on the olivesoftware site which also do not work. I subspect the new lazy frame code, but that's just a guess. Anyway, the left side of the screen is OK, but the right side where the newspaper content is supposed to appear never works. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.see above 2. 3. Actual Results: just empty gray space on left side of screen which can be more interesting if you refresh the screen in various ways (apparently turning into total garbage noise at times), but nothing it shows ever looks like newspaper content. Expected Results: Newspaper image on right side of screen. The exact same 64 bit flash plugin that worked on firefox 3.6 also works in forefox 4.0.1 for every other flash page I try except the olivesoftware active daily paper pages.

WFM (at least I see no obvious problems) with FlashPlayer 10.3.162.29 Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:5.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0 Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:6.0a2) Gecko/20110609 Firefox/6.0a2 Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:7.0a1) Gecko/20110610 Firefox/7.0a1 Which FlashPlayer do you use? Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
If I start it in safe mode, it won't load the flash plugin :-). I did create a brand new user from scratch, so he'd have a pristine ~/.mozilla directory and I can't see anything on the right half of the page when I run any of the demos available on the olivesoftware demo page. On one system I have the libflashplayer.so from the 64 bit beta flash in flashplayer10_2_p3_64bit_linux_111710.tar.gz. On a different system I installed 32 and 64 bit nspluginwrapper rpms from the fedora repo and the latest 32 bit flash-plugin from the adobe repo. I get the same results on both systems. Whichever newspaper demo I click on (financial times, detroit free press, etc) I get the table of contents on the left side and I get no newspaper image on the right side. Sometimes it is blank, sometimes it is blank but has scroll bars (that don't do anything). Maybe it is something about the fedora build rather than firefox 4 itself? I should try downloading the binaries from mozilla and give them a shot I guess.
Ah-HA! If I download the firefox 4.0.1 binary from mozilla.org, unpack it, make a plugins directory, copy the libflashplayer.so from the adobe rpm flash-plugin-10.3.181.22-release.i386.rpm to that plugins directory, then I can in fact view the online edition of the Palm Beach Post which is what originally triggered this bug report. Now I need to see if it is the fedora build, or just a 64 bit versus 32 bit issue. I'm off to try firefox on the 32 bit fedora 15 partition I happen to have laying around.
OK, I tracked it down. It is really a problem with nspluginwrapper, so I made a redhat bugzilla instead: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=712545
Glad to hear you found it out, or at least located the error. Considering comment 4 I'll mark this bug as INVALID.
