In an email software called Smartermail Enterprise V 8.1 (http://www.smartertools.com) the "reply" button fails to display the email interface properly. The inbox displays properly. This event does NOT happen with firefox 3.7 or higher, the reply button works properly
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.open smartermail on the mail client at my isp
2. pick an email press the "reply" button
3. defective rendering of reply window
Actual Results:
defective rendering of email
Expected Results:
correct rendering of reply email
I have screen shots of this event for your examination. However, apparently, I cannot attach them to this report. If you drop me an email (rclose@iac.net). I will send them along for your examination.

You need to give us a publicly accessible web page where we can reproduce the problem.
Can you confirm that the problem does not exist in Firefox 4.0.1?
Also can you start SeaMonkey in safe mode:

Does the problem also occur in safe mode?

This is one of two attachments showing that the "reply" function does not work properly. another attachment labelled "firefox 3617" will be uploaded and will show a correct rendering of this function.

Thanks for your response. This piece of software does not even display in Seamonkey 2.0. At least I am getting something here in Seamonkey 2.1. My ISP tech department is not very responsive to my commentary, and I think that this is just sloppy coding by the software vendor. However you can see the difference in the attachments. I was able to find the attachment section, in the middle of the page, in this format of the bug report, and have uploaded the jpegs for you to look at. I believe that you may be able to use the website noted in my comments below to access a copy of the software. If not and you write me directly with your email, I will arrange to give you access for a limited time to my email so you can see the errors for yourself. Make sure you use Seamonkey 2.1 and Firefox 4 for best responses. Near as I can figure out those morons coded for the latest versions of these browsers and did not provide support for any versions earlier than the numbers noted above. (Firefox 3.617 will not render the inbox accurately- sigh).

Ah sounds like bad browser sniffing. Since SeaMonkey 2.1 uses exactly the same display engine as Firefox 4.0.1.
In SeaMonkey 2.1 can you go to Edit->Preferences
Then to the Advanced->HTTP Networking tab.
There should be a checkbox "Advertise Firefox compatibility". Unchecking this box will probably makes things worse but confirms that they are doing bad browser sniffing.
Next type into the location bar "about:config"
filter for "useragent".
Create (if it doesn't already exist) a new string preferences called
general.useragent.override and set it to, err, something like:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0.2pre) Gecko/20110420 Firefox/4.0.2pre
See if that works. You may have to clear your cookies first.

Seamonkey 2.1 Release Candidate (RC) DOES render SmarterMail properly. However the actual version that was the final release does not. This indicates some code changes were made that make the rendering of SmarterMail inaccurate.

Please, don't post replies to Crash Signature field, but in comment one. If you want to reopen bug, but can't do that, you can write directly to me or other person, who can do that.
Also, according to your comment, problem not in browser, but in that program, which hard-tied to browser's version...
