This is a weird bug, if it is a bug: If you go to: http://gemal.dk/card/ and check the email address "gemal@dk.net". In Netscape 4.x the "g" renders with the lower line of the "g" under the link line. In Mozilla the lower line of the "g" is not there! I'll attach a screenshot of both netscape 4.x and mozilla. Build 20010123
This is probably because Mozilla is using a slightly smaller font. You can tell by looking at the "m", the @, and a couple of the other letters. I don't know exactly *why* Mozilla uses smaller fonts, though.
Mozilla also draws the underline itself, after getting the position and thickness from the font metrics. We could be doing something wrong there (like drawing the thickness on the wrong side of the position). Is the underline in the right place when the font is really big?
According to the layout newsgroup, where I also posted this problem, it seems to be a problem with the different font sizes used in netscape and mozilla. Perhaps this is not a bug after all. But it looks really stupid.
Could you attach a screenshot of the same thing with really big fonts?
what do you mean by "really big fonts". just font size=+20 ?

is this win only? it's quite weird. The webaddress looks like it says "qemal.dk" and not "gemal.dk because of the missing lower line of the "g"
well on 2002041103/WinXP the underline is now _below_ the g
Any idea when it changed? I suspect it was due to bug 76097 changes.
... in fact, probably be the exact change within that patch that caused bug 136935, so don't mark fixed/wfm quite yet.
That's what I was thinking.. I almost submitted comment 12 as a bug until I found bug 76097.
what a hack. I have not touch mozilla code for 2 years. I didn't read these bugs for 2 years. And they are still there. Just close them as won't fix to clean up.
