Plus when I take and click on the Update Firefox button at the bottom, it says that it is Downloading Firefox "Connecting to the update..." and sits there for ever. Reproducible: Always

No notification pop-up appears even if i have an outdated version of Firefox. I have tried on Beta2 and also an the latest Nightly and no pop appears. Both version perform silent install and all you have to do is to apply the update. Could you see if the issue occurs if using Firefox in safe mode: http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode How about with a new, empty testing profile? (Don't install any addons into it) http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile
