is this just me? am i the only one? and if so, why? i'm so confused.

using 2001012504 mtrunk win98 installer.

essentially, most all preference selectors are nonfunctional, including
radiobuttons, checkboxes, textfields, and pull-down menus. there are three
clearly related categories:

1. no default settings are displayed when initially entering preferences.
   exceptions to this:
   - the following display correctly - font preferences, language displaying
"english", helper app file types displaying "text/html", the composer recent
menus maximum
   - the following display incorrect default values - languages character coding
(also in messages) and internet search default search engine

2. changes made to settings do not persist after leaving and returning.
   exceptions to this:
   - the following change correctly - all prefs in fonts, languages (but not
character coding), helper app file types

3. the "ok" button does not work, and thus even persisting changes cannot be set.

100% reproduceable, even after deleting and recreating profiles (and deleting
and reinstalling mozilla).

I broke for (var i in o); loops, which Ben's nsWidgetStateManager.js uses.
Sorry about that! I'm shocked the JS testsuite didn't catch this. More back in
