If the login to my POP3 mail server fails, Mozilla puts up an alert that says "An error occurred while sending your password to the mail server." After I cancel the alert, Mozilla takes up 100% of the CPU and continues to do so until I shut it down. Mozilla continues to function while it hogging the CPU but does so very slowly. To reproduce: 1) Log in to a POP3 server but do something to cause the login to fail. In my case, it seems the POP3 server itself is having problems: "-ERR mail storage services unavailable, wait a few minutes and try again." 2) See the alert, "An error occurred while sending..." 3) Cancel the alert. 4) See Mozilla take up 100% of the CPU. Here is the POP3 log: 0[811890]: Entering NET_ProcessPop3 34 0[811890]: POP3: Entering state: 1 0[811890]: POP3: Entering state: 2 0[811890]: POP3: Entering state: 4 0[811890]: RECV: +OK InterMail POP3 server ready. 0[811890]: POP3: Entering state: 29 0[811890]: SEND: AUTH 0[811890]: Entering NET_ProcessPop3 50 0[811890]: POP3: Entering state: 3 0[811890]: RECV: -ERR Invalid command; valid commands: USER, QUIT 0[811890]: POP3: Entering state: 30 0[811890]: POP3: Entering state: 5 0[811890]: SEND: USER smoehle 0[811890]: Entering NET_ProcessPop3 30 0[811890]: POP3: Entering state: 3 0[811890]: RECV: +OK please send PASS command 0[811890]: POP3: Entering state: 6 0[811890]: Logging suppressed for this command (it probably contained authentication information) 0[811890]: Entering NET_ProcessPop3 75 0[811890]: POP3: Entering state: 3 0[811890]: RECV: -ERR mail storage services unavailable, wait a few minutes and try again. 0[811890]: POP3: Entering state: 7 0[811890]: POP3: Entering state: 5 0[811890]: SEND: USER smoehle Tested with Mozilla 2001012504 on NT4.

I cannot duplicate the bug, but I believe that is because my POP3 server is no longer responding with "-ERR mail storage services unavailable , wait a few minutes and try again." However, this being @Home, it should not be too long before I get that error again, and I can see how Mozilla handles it. Resolving INVALID for now.
