I'm using Thunderbird 6.0a2 (2011-06-17) against an IMAP server. While I drag and drop a message from the message list over the folder list, Thunderbird hilights a folder, then the space between two folders, then the next folder, etc. If I drop a message between two folders, the drag and drop action is cancelled. I suggest that since dropping a message between two folders is invalid, Thunderbird should not offer a "space" between two folders and, instead, hilight whichever folder the mouse pointer is closest to. Interestingly, dragging a folder over other folders does not offer space between folders and operates the way I would expect.
