Please add the following two new sections to the website privacy policy located at: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/privacy-policy.html and http://www.mozilla.org/about/policies/privacy-policy.html. Between the "Opt-Out Procedures" and "Privacy Policy Changes" sections add this new section: Mozilla Ads Mozilla places advertisements on third party web sites to introduce people to our products and services, to encourage people to contribute to our community-based activities, and to sign up to receive communications from Mozilla. We stand by our online advertising practices and aim to provide full transparency and control over how our ads appear and function. We use a vendor - TruEffect - to power our advertisements via the website media.mozilla.com. Some advertisements associated with this site may use cookies. Cookies are text files that your web browser places on your computer when you visit a web site and can be used to store information about your activity. When you view Mozilla's advertisements on third party sites where we advertise, cookies from these campaigns provide information to us that is used to help measure and improve performance of our advertising. We do not use cookies to save data that identifies you personally such as your name, address, credit card number or other confidential information, nor do we capture behavioral data to personalize future ads or create targeting profiles about you. Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but they can be configured not to accept them or to indicate when a cookie is being set (see http://www.allaboutcookies.org/manage-cookies/). You may choose to opt-out of our cookies by clicking on the following link: Opt-Out Now (Button that links to http://media.mozilla.com/) ************************** Between the "Community Members" and Interactive Product Features" sections please add a new section: Children Mozilla's websites are not directed to individuals under the age of thirteen (13), and we request that such individuals do not provide personally identifying information through our websites.
Assigning to Steven to include in this upcoming release. Thanks!

This page also includes a link to a PDF version of the website Privacy Policy. Can we expect an update of this, is is it something we need to produce? Is there a canonical version in a word-processing document format that could be attached here that could be used to generate a PDF? Thanks.
I'll attach a PDF in the morning.
Done on mozilla.org in r91528 (no merge to stage/production needed). Done in trunk on mozilla.com in r91522. Merged to stage in r91527. Will update with the PDF when it is attached here.
Assigning back to Liz, so she can include the PDF.

What date are we going to use for "last updated"? I looked at r91528 and r91527 and it doesn't look like this was updated from June 30, 2010 yet. The PDF should match the HTML. Should we use today's date (June 27, 2011)? Also, I noticed that in the new section on ads it says "web site" rather than "website."
I'll update the dates - let's go with June 28th - it won't be going into production until tomorrow.
Updated date to "June 28, 2011" on mozilla.com in r91566 and on .org in r91567.
Attached file Websites privacy policy redline (obsolete) —
I realized in reviewing the PDF that in the rush to get the ad language in, I forgot another important change - removing the old language and adding the new legal process section, as we just did in the Firefox Privacy Policy. Since I had to make that change, I read through the whole policy and found some other small mistakes. I changed web site to website throughout (that's our current standard, right?) added some periods and stuff like that, removed Mozilla Messaging from the list of subsidiaries and corrected the names of the others, and added the new legal process section. Attached is a redline showing these changes. I can save it as a PDF if you don't have Word. Next I'll attach a PDF of the corrected privacy policy. In connection with updating the privacy policy, we'll need to update this page, which is pretty far out of date: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/third-party.html This page may need updating too: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/opt-out.html I'll check with Alex on updating those linked pages.
Found one more typo.

http://www.mozilla.org/about/policies/privacy-policy.html updated with latest changes in r91674. mozilla.com version is update in trunk in r91675 and merged to stage in r91678. This leaves two merges to go to production: r91527 and r91675.

It looks like the new "Legal Process and Other Disclosures" section hasn't been added. I think all the other changes are there.
I discovered another change needed. Please remove the following sentence from the 2nd paragraph under "How We Use Cookies and Clear GIFs": "The Mozilla websites using third-party web analytics tools are listed here." I'll attach a new PDF with this change.
This doesn't look done.

.org updated for comment #15 and #16 in r91814 and r91815. Updated the pdf in r91816. .com updated in trunk in r91818. Merged to stage in r91819. I also took the liberty of removing the file size from the PDF link - I don't think it's necessary at this small size and easier to remove than to maintain. James, this leaves the following merges for production on mozilla.com after QA and Liz approves (sorry for the many merges): r91527, r91675, and r91819.

Steven - can you give me the link to view the .com version on staging? That's an easier way for me to review it.
