Expected Results: The change in size of the tabs should be fluid.
Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode How about with a new, empty profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic+Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile

Hi, The problem persists with Firefox in Safe-Mode and with a new profile.
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:7.0a1) Gecko/20110626 Firefox/7.0a1 Correct me if I am wrong - the other tabs start to change size only after you take the mouse out of the tab-strip area? (Tab closed using mouse)
@George Carstoiu : Yes, it's right. Is it purpose ?
Yes, that is the intended behavior of the browser that can explained thusly: if there are more tabs opened and a user wants to close several using the mouse and the X close button on each tab, if the tabs grow in size then the position of the X also changes, so the user has to continue changing the position of the mouse. If the tabs remain with the same size, X stays in the same place and thusly the user can close several at the same time without even changing the position of the mouse. Basically, it is an ergonomics thing :) Hope that I managed to get myself understood. Can you please change the status of the bug considering that this is the intended behavior of the browser? Thanks!
Ok :).
