Details

For PopupNotifications for e.g. addons, when dismissing a notification (clicking on the cross), the addon icon on the left side of the location bar stays around, and clicking on it makes the popup notification show up again.

Taking the first example on https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Using_popup_notifications, and putting it, for example, at the end of delayedStartup() in browser.js, the resulting popup notification brings an information icon in the location bar, which, after closing the popup notification, stays around, like the addons case, but clicking on the icon makes the icon appear/disappear instead of bringing the popup notification back.
