User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:5.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0 Build ID: 20110615151330 Steps to reproduce: Upgraded from 3.1.11 to 5.0 clicked on a message and the message pane does not change (display the email message body) The only thing I see is the header box - the message pane is blank but for the default lt. blue color. Actual results: The body of the email could not display - if I toggle F8 nothing happens all that displays is the message list as if the separator bar is pulled way down to the bottom - there is no separator bar to pull up to reveal the email message body - in the message pane. Expected results: The email message should have displayed in the message pane.
Does starting in -safe-mode as described at http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/Safe-Mode helps ?
I think I figured it out! I compared the two profile folders - the one that worked vs. the one that didn't and the one that didn't had a Chrome folder containing a chrome.css file. Once I removed it from the profile folder TB5 reacted normally. I think I got it. It worked on my desktop pc at work and my laptop. It also worked on my home pc (my main box) as I had hoped it would there as well as I copied these profile folders and the files in them from pc to pc over the years - I guess it is not always a good idea but at least I found a solution.
