Our goal for including a news feed (RSS/ATOM) in the live bookmark is to demonstrate dynamic, changing and relevant content. We would suggest you choose something your users are interested in and that is locally relevant. The guidelines for making recommendations are on <https://wiki.mozilla.org/L10n:Firefox/Productization>. By default this is the same as en-US, which is BBC news.

Jurk, do you have any suggestions?

The implementation is done via a change of the redirect on mozilla.com, and is a server-side change only.

The Kashubian team will be driving this bug to completion.
Axel,

Since most Kashubian users live in Poland, I suggest that:

Wirtualna Polska (http://wiadomosci.wp.pl/) be used as the default news feed (RSS/ATOM).

Jurk
Axel,

Please, disregard my previous RSS suggestion. I wasn't aware that Netvibes has been localized into Kashubian. Therefore:

we would like to suggest Netvibes (http://www.netvibes.com/) as the default RSS.

 Jurk
The Kashubian team assumes the required information was provided.

Pike, can you please reassign to IT/Ops if we're done here?

This is about an actual feed, like http://wiadomosci.wp.pl/rss.xml (looping back to comment 1).

netvibes on the other hand is an aggregator, and considered in the bug on protocol handlers, see bug 668777.

To get a second opinion, Markek, what do you think about http://wiadomosci.wp.pl/rss.xml?

Axel, Marek,

I'm easy: http://wiadomosci.wp.pl/rss.xml will work also.

Full disclosure: my employer is WP.pl's and Gazeta.pl's direct competitor.

To the point, I have nothing against wp.pl - it's a general portal like Yahoo in the US. It might be considered politically neutral. The company is a fully-owned subsidiary of France Telecom.

WP corporate headquaters are in the same province where Kashubian is spoken, but the site itself is in Polish only.

FWIW, Polish Firefox has been using Gazeta.pl feed since the day BBC Poland ceased operations.

Ok, that's not 100% true. WP.pl is a fully-owned subsidiary of Telekomunikacja Polska, whose biggest shareholder is France Telecom.

So Marek, you're saying that wp.pl should be a good choice for csb too?
Axel, Marek, Milos,

I don't see a problem with mirroring exactly what FF PL is using. We're not trying to alienate FF CSB from their environment :) Is there something you'd like me to do? So far testing of the Aurora CSB let us detect very few issues (all were already corrected) so naturally, we're impatiently waiting to move forward.
Milos, WP is OK for csb, I think. A Kashubian general news portal would be better, I guess, but there doesn't seem to be any. WP would also be OK for PL, if we were to change things.

Jurk, I don't think you need to mirror anything we use in PL. You can mirror whatever you wish to, but you don't have to.
I know :) Thanks Marek.

Also, you're correct: there aren't any suitable Kashubian language news portal we could recommend.
Jurk,

So, final question for you: do you prefer WP over Gazeta? I'm slightly leaning towards Gazeta, but per Marek's feedback, feel free to choose the one that seems more appropriate for Kashubian users.
Milos,

Gazeta will definitely work.
Axel,

looks fine to me. Can we proceed please?
So that'd be http://www.gazeta.pl/pub/rss/wiadomosci.xml, looking at what 'pl' redirects to?
Axel, yes.
Depends on: 694516
Filed bug 694516 for the actual redirect.
As redirect is set, I'm closing this one.
