User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:5.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0
Build ID: 20110615151330

Steps to reproduce:

When I start firefox, the app tabs display the localy cached(?) version of the page displayed the last time firefox was used. This means, that I manually have to reload each app tab (e.g. when used for news pages, or similar).

Actual results:

Cached version of the page is displayed (showing the same content as the last time firefox was used).

Expected results:

App tabs should automatically reload their content when firefox is started. Alternatively, a per-app-tab option to enable this behavior (e.g. available from the app tab's context menu) would be very nice.

Please note: this is not a duplicate of bug 607970!

This bug is about the fact, that when starting FF, it displays the locally cached version of each page/tab (showing the same information when FF was closed the last time). The requested option should tell FF to always reload/refresh the page being displayed in an (app-)tab when FF is started (so that it displays the most current version of the page).

The other bug is about an option that lets me tell FF to always load the same URL in an app tab when FF is started.

I hope this makes it a little bit clearer.

More information to make it clearer what I mean (sorry, but english is not my native language):

This is how it currently works:
- I navigate to http://www.mynewspage.com
- the page displays the news of "2011-07-07 14:00"
- I make the page an app-tab and close the browser
- two hours later, I restart firefox
- the app-tab still displays http://www.mynewspage.com as it was (showing the news of "2011-07-07 14:00")
- I have to manually refresh the page to display the news of 16:00

How it should work:
- I navigate to http://www.mynewspage.com and make it an app-tab (it displays the news of "2011-07-07 14:00")
- I right-click the app-tab and click something like "always reload page on startup"
- close the browser
- two hours later, I restart firefox, and it will automatically reload/refresh the news page to display the news of 16:00

Maybe this could even be the default behavior for app-tabs, so that no contex-menu-option is required.

I will also update bug 607970 with similar details about what I mean.
Sorry, duped against the wrong bug. I'm sure there exist already such a bug, but I can't find it right now.

Anything new about this issue?
Although old, this still is the fact in Firefox 26:
app tabs do not get reloaded on Firefox startup which I would expect, but only a the locally cached version of the app tag gets reloaded from cache.

And no, I did not find any other bug report on this elsewhere...
