User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:5.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0 Build ID: 20110615151330 Steps to reproduce: I try to send an email via the corp SMTP servers (Exchange) - I try more than one server. The SMTP server and connection are fine because I can send email from Linux Thunderbird or Mutt (along dozens of other users) or even from a Windows Thunderbird on different desktop. Moreover, I can connect to SMTP server from the problemic Windows using Telnet (port 25) and can send emails from Pegasus, so the problem is definetly in Thunderbird (Windows). This problem was present in previous version in Th (3.1 probably 3.0). To exclude profile problems I removed all Thunderbird Data and started from clean installation of Th5. Actual results: Th fails with error message that it cannot connect to SMTP server. Expected results: Mail should be send.
Severity: normal → major
Please find the whole output from following script: set NSPR_LOG_MODULES=smtp:4 set NSPR_LOG_FILE=%APPDATA%\smtp.log "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe" Output is one line, where <server-name> is relpaced with my smtp server. 0[42f140]: SMTP Connecting to: <server-name>
Are you sure you don't have an anti-virus or a firewall blocking Thunderbird ?
For sure port 25 is not blocked, because I can use it. I believe to use the Anti-Virus same setting on various boxes and I can use one, but not others. Anyway I'll double check with other affected users, which might better understanding our corp settings.
