User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; de; rv:1.9.0.19) Gecko/2011032020 Camino/2.0.7 (MultiLang) (like Firefox/3.0.19) Build ID: 2011032020 Steps to reproduce: Camino 2.0.7 (1.9.0.19 2011032020). Going to: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/ Actual results: 1. Plugin versions not correctly displayed: - "Shockwave Flash": 10.3.r181 - "Shockwave for Director": 11.6.0 => false alarms for outdated plugins 2. False complaint about outdated browser (Camino), but Camino update says installed version is the latest! Expected results: - "Shockwave Flash": 10.3.r181.34 or better 10.3.181.34 - "Shockwave for Director": 11.6.0.626 These versions are mentioned in Info.plist file of the plugins, but seems that Camino relies only on the general Plugin description string entry, but not on the Version entry in that file!
I bet that's a bug in the page, or a bug in the way Gecko 1.9.0 reports plugin versions (but I'm not really willing to reinstall Flash right now to find out if it works fine in Camino 2.1). You should try this in Camino 2.1a1pre and see if it works properly there. (I'm also fairly certain no one actually uses that page :-p)
More likely this is a stale pluginreg.dat, which is a known issue with Gecko 1.9.0. Please try quitting Camino, deleting that file from your profile, relaunching, and re-checking the versions. > False complaint about outdated browser This is almost certainly because you are on a Firefox-targeted page, and Camino's UA includes its corresponding Firefox version, which is indeed out of date (Firefox 3.0 is no longer supported by Mozilla). Camino 2.0.7 is indeed up to date, until we ship Camino 2.1.
I have deleted pluginreg.dat, after quitting Camino. No change, same versions are being displayed.
Oh, I didn't read your actual vs. expected closely enough. If the Info.plist is the only place with the full version, then yes, Camino 2.0 would give the other version. Camino 2.1 (Gecko 1.9.2) reads the plist, so this is WFM with trunk.
