User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:5.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0 Build ID: 20110615151330 Steps to reproduce: I entered some text into a form field but didin't submit it. Then switched to Private Browsing in another Firefox Window (not Tab, but same profile). Switched back to normal browsing. Actual results: The text in the form field is now gone. Expected results: The text should still be there so that i don't have to write it again. It was a rather long text :-(
OS: Other → Windows 7
Hardware: All → x86_64

It happens when you want to post a comment to a reddit.com submission. For example to this one in the comment box at the top: http://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/ilawu/alright_rfirefox_we_havent_had_one_of_these_in_a/

Yes you need to sign in to see the comment box.
This is really a sessionstore bug...

When I do this on reddit, my comment text is restored upon return from private browsing. Do you have any addons that might be interfering?

I just checked if this still happens when i disable all my add-ons, restart firefox and then do the above procedure again. And it is still bugged for me. The text still gets deleted. Some more testing revealed to me that this doesn't happen with every text field. The one used on this website works for me. So the text in it is restored after the private mode.
It would help greatly to diagnose this bug if we could have a minimized test case which utilizes the same type of textbox which exhibits the problem you are having.

I just tried to reproduce this again, but it seems that i can't. With Firefox 6.0.1 the bug seems to be gone as far as i can tell.
Resolving WORKSFORME based on comment 10. @flyingfox13 if you can reproduce this at anytime in the future with the latest Nightly, please reopen.
