User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:8.0a1) Gecko/20110712 Firefox/8.0a1
Build ID: 20110712030240

Steps to reproduce:

When I make a typo in a URL, it does a google search (search term 'www' if the URL starts witrh that), and in the address bar, the google-search URL replaces the URL I typed (with typo).

Result is that I have to retype my URL from scratch instead of just correcting it, as one should expect.

Internet Explorer did (or does) the same, which was one of the major annoyances of that browser.
Google Chrome is, imo, unusable because of the search being integrated in the address bar...

If I want to search, I type my data in the search field....

Actual results:

instead of a 404 I get a google search and I am annnoyed by the fact I have to retype whole the URL instead of correcting one charachter in it.

Expected results:

Should have given a 404, possibly with an option to do a search, but for sure not decide for me to start a google search and remove my data from the address bar
