User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.17) Gecko/20110422 Ubuntu/10.04 (lucid) Firefox/3.6.17 Build ID: 20110422054610 Steps to reproduce: installed openpgp (plugin available called enigmail) openpgp automatically sets up some account settings for text only message sending when you install it (it will typically only encrypt text messages, not html) But, even though I've: Unchecked account settings 'compose messages in html format' for all accounts Actual results: Everything's kosher when I try to send mail or reply to mail through thunderbird, but if I click on an email link in a webpage, thunderbird opens a HTML compose window instead of respecting the settings I just applied. Even after I select 'options > format > plain text only" in the compose window I get a warning message/error when trying to send from openpgp that my message may be in html format. This message does not appear when composing/replying from within thunderbird, only when opening a compose window by clicking on a webpage email address (link). There appears to be no method for permanently forcing thunderbird to always use plain text and never, no matter what, automatically open an html compose window. Also, this gives thunderbird a scizophrenic kind of behavior - clicking 'write' gives me a plain text window that openpgp likes, but clicking on someone's email in firefox gives me a compose window with html formatting, even though none of my accounts have html composing enabled. Which is it thunderbird? Default to HTML or default to my settings? It can't make up it's mind. Also, in preferences, composition, send options, I have 'convert the message to plain text' enabled, but this doesnt prevent the compose message window from opening html format to start with, nor does it prevent openpgp from warning me that my message looks like html even after changing the formatting to 'plain text only'. (Maybe I'll make a second bug report for this, if it's not fixed by fixing this bug, that changing formats to plain text only isn't as effective as it should be, as openpgp is still picking up something in the message that is not plain text.) Expected results: If you disable composing messages in html, and sending messages from within thunderbird opens compose windows in plain-text, you should either 1) also open compose windows from links in web pages as plain text, or: 2) Have an option to always open all compose windows in plain text. Or some other way to make thunderbird behave sanely, and not in a scizophrenic manner.
Besides enigmail do you have other extension installed ?
Unable to reproduce on current TB. Neither on Mac OS X nor on Debian GNU/Linux.
