User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:8.0a1) Gecko/20110714 Firefox/8.0a1
Build ID: 20110714030748

Steps to reproduce:

Go to,
Or any other Bethesda forum, like Oblivion Mods section.

Notice that scrolling is alright, *much* better than in Opera/Chrome. (With cursor outside of page and hardware acceleration enabled)

If you do not notice this, get a W7 computer that is weak enough for this to be *very* obvious [I use HP Mini 311]. (For ease of confirming this bug)

Move the mouse cursor over the various topics (move the cursor down the "Topic" column, left of "Started By" column).
Notice when you do this a little paper with text icon appears to the right of the topic title. Hovering over this gives text "View topic preview"

Actual results:

Notice that there is a fair delay between the cursor moving to a certain topic and the "View topic preview" icon showing up (for that topic).

Alternatively, put your cursor on the very top topic and scroll down using the arrow keys - mouse cursor will pass over various topics causing the "View topic preview" icon to be painted every time.
There is stuttering every time Firefox needs to draw the "View topic preview" icon for a different topic.

Reproducible with and without hardware acceleration.

Expected results:

Notice that Opera and Chrome do not have this issue - that is, it the icon get drawn fast enough to look instant.

It feels about four time slower than Opera and Chrome.
Just moving the mouse at normal speed, you notice that icon trying to keep up.

OS: Other → Windows 7
I can confirm on:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:8.0a1) Gecko/20110721 Firefox/8.0a1

Scrolling down using the arrow keys will cause the "View topic preview" to be painted every time (behavior that is not encountered on other browsers).
Issue is reproducible ever since Firefox 3.6.19.

Setting resolution to NEW.
Ever confirmed: true

There seemes to have been changes to the page in question. I do not seem to be getting abundant gradients in Opera and IE9 - so scrolling is no longer slow. Also Chrome now offers the best performance with the gradients on each topic.

DLBI helped here when it landed (before back-out). The "View topic preview" icon was redrawn without delay when moving mouse cursor (not scrolling test).
