Steps to reproduce:

I try to forward or reply to an attached message. So I start by opening the attached message.


Actual results:

If I try to forward it, it will create a new mail, but it is empty. If I close that new mail and try again, I get the following message:
An error occurred while creating a message compose window. Please try again.

If I try to reply to it, it seems to work ok. However, if the message had embedded pictures, the pictures are lost. There are place holders, but the pictures are gone. If it tries to autosave a draft, or if I save manually while composing, I get the following message:
Unable to save message as draft. Please verify that your mail and newsgroup account settings are correct and try again. There is also status progress window that says Assembling mail information...

To duplicate, the problem...
Send a mail to yourself with embedded pictures. Attach that message in a new mail and send it to yourself. Now forward or reply to the attached message that you last received.


Expected results:

When reply it should still have the embedded pictures, and it should be able to save a draft.
Forward should be able to create the new mail window.

When replying you get the image placeholder and text (message), while forwarding the attached message you get nothing. The message being forwarded contains no embedded image and no text.

The forwarding issue is fixed by bug 673049. I'm almost positive there's a bug out there for the other issue too, but I can't find it at the moment.

same pb for me with TB 5.0

Hi people,
since updated to TB 5.0 , I have very often the following pb : (PS: my option is set to forward Inline)
When I receive a digest of messages, I can open each of the individual messages as they are foudn as Attachements.
Nevertheless, when trying to FORWARD one of these attached msg, TB fails to "copy" it and only a blank mail appear to me... Any idea ? I believe it is just a bug cuz thsi pb did not occur in previous release...

Certainly not a dupe of bug 408114 where forwarding didn't work for messages with invalid MIME structure.

Here the reporter complains about replying to a message or forwarding a message which came as a message attachment. Coincidentally I have a few messages with message attachments in my inbox. Reply and forward work fine, so let's assume this is fixed. If not, please reopen and supply the message that causes a problem.
