User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:8.0a1) Gecko/20110717 Firefox/8.0a1 Build ID: 20110717030802 Steps to reproduce: Alice WLAN Router 1421 [firmware 1.00.16] german manual: http://static.alice.de/provider/content/staticcontentblob/anbieter/15330172/2011-05-09-10-23-07/data/Handbuch_Alice_WLAN_1421.pdf I cannot login into the router with Firefox (release, beta, aurora and nightly) with the correct password (no spezial sign in it, only [A-Z, a-z, 0-9]). I tried it in safe mode too. There seams to be a problem with the password transmission to the router. With Internet Explorer 9, Google Chrome 14 and Opera 12 I can login normally. Actual results: I always get "Das Kennwort ist falsch" (=wrong password) reproducible = always Error console: Warning: Error in parsing value for 'Filter'. Declaration dropped. Source File: http://alice.box/css/main/content.css Line: 237 (I don't know if this is the [only] reason for my problem?) Expected results: The login should be possible so I can see / change the router settings.
Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode How about with a new, empty profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic%20Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile Does the issue occur if you spoof your user agent to IE or Chrome?
I found the reason. The "do not track" function blocking this. disabled = login possible enabled = login impossible Does the "do not track" function belongs to the component "Security" or "Preferences" ?
The new "do not track" is just an additional http header and it's a router bug if that makes a difference. Please report the problem to the router/firmware manufacturer. BTW: The product Firefox is only the userinterface of the browser, everything else is in different products like Core. You can analyze this with wireshark if you want to confirm that the difference is only an additional http header.
