Steps to reproduce:

Perform a search all message


Actual results:

Search result shows all relevant messages. However, when you "open as list", only the messages not in a Local Folder are shown.


Expected results:

All relevant messages should be shown.

Interestingly after killing the global-messages-db.sqlite file completely and letting Thunderbird rebuild it, the global search function now works as expected again…

And now the problem is back: again, initial search results shows me the messages I expect to see, but then when clicking a message or "show as list", I don't see all of them…

So, there seems to a problem with the global search and locally stored messages (at least that's where I think the problem is consistent with).

So something is corrupting gloda it seems.

Do you run add-ons ?

Do you have weird names for local folders ?

I run a couple of add-ons. AttachmentExtractor, Extra Folder Columns, Mail Merge, and 4 dictionaries.

I don't have weird names for any of my folders. They basically only contain alphanumeric characters, spaces, and - and +. The same names as were used in non-local folders (my local folders are my message archive).

(historically, addons are not known to interfere with gloda)

Note: same list of warnings is generated when I click on one of the search results to open them (which seems logical as that opens the same new tab)

nothing useful on error console afaict. 
does it also happen in safe mode? http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/safe-mode

perhaps this is related to/duplicate of bug 523939 comment 13 - Open as List view does not show all messages shown in faceted search

Hi Wayne,

Yeah the problem also happens in safe mode.

From the descriptions of the other two bugs  https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=523939 and https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=541350 it indeed seems I'm experiencing the same problems.

If there's anything I can do to help further, please let me know :-)
