Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10_6_7; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.20.25 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.4 Safari/533.20.27 Steps to reproduce: The self-updater (About: Check for Updates) in FF 5 writes the updates it downloads to /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/updates. This is not good. Applications should not write within their bundle. By doing so, only the person that installed FF can update it through the updater. Actual results: Self updater writes within the the applications bundle. Expected results: the self-updater should write the updates to a shared location, like /Library/Application Support/Firefox/updates. Also, if the person trying to perform the update is not the person that originally installed the program, FF should prompt the user for admin credentials and then perform the update.
