Steps to reproduce:

opened bookmarks flyout beyond the border of the Firefox UI


Actual results:

When the bookmarks flyout extends beyond the Firefox UI and crosses into the desktop region, the bookmark flyout remains on the desktop, even after Firefox is closed. This has been a problem since I first started using Firefox back in version 3. (see attached image)


Expected results:

Bookmark flyout should disappear after the flyout is closed.

James -> Does this still occur with Firefox 9?

Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

Yes, the problem still exists with 9.0.1.

Running in safe mode, the problem disappears. Bookmark flyouts close properly and do not leave residual graphics on the desktop.

that's due to hardware acceleration
