+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #524863 +++ Bug 524863 was supposedly fixed for Thunderbird 3.0, but I can reproduce what appears to be the exact same bug in current "Earlybird" Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:7.0a2) Gecko/20110720 Thunderbird/7.0a2 I can also reproduce in Thunderbird 3.1.11 (installed via Ubuntu 11.04 package-manager) Steps to Reproduce (copied straight from 524863): ===== 1. Create a new account and launch [Thunderbird] with it 2. Cancel on all the new account setup prompts till all you have is the main [Thunderbird] interface 3. Click the "Write" toolbar button 4. Notice that "New Account Setup" wizard appears and DOES NOT provide an option of setting up an email account. See attached image. =====

Duping back to the original bug, as it appears that its fix never landed on trunk & it's been reopened as a result.
