I just discovered that the AMO validator for addons was a standalone project that I could run for myself. I think other people might want to run the validator too, maybe as part of their Makefiles, or just for checking stuff without having to upload the XPI just to cancel the upload if a new warning poppep up. Currently, as far as I know, this is not advertised on the developer pages. I think we could add a few links to https://github.com/mozilla/amo-validator - after you upload a XPI, right after the short report (0 errors, N warnings), - in the page that lists the full validation report.
