Crash Data

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1
Build ID: 20110413222027

Steps to reproduce:

downloaded and latest verison on my mac

Actual results:

page came up and then crashed. continued attempts to restart were unsucdessful. had to restore to version 4

Expected results:

shoulda worked!
Did the crash reporter come up after the crash and did you sent a report ?
In that case provide a crash ID from that crash ->
https://developer.mozilla.org/en/How_to_get_a_stacktrace_for_a_bug_report

FF4 should list the crash reports from FF5
Keywords: stackwanted
OS: Other → Mac OS X
Crash Signature: a445c21e-e6a8-49db-b3a8-f636c2110722
The Crash ID Report https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/bp-a445c21e-e6a8-49db-b3a8-f636c2110722 has the same Stack as Bug 629120, but that one seems to be connected to the Yoono Extension and Linux, what isn't involved here.

Looking at the Crashstats http://bit.ly/rpoesk the Common Factor seems to be the "Friendly Gaming Simplifier" Extension you can get here http://rzadki.eu/projects/fgs/#download

@marne: can you verify this by removing above Extension within Firefox 4 and try to update to and run Firefox 5?

removed the FGS extension and ran the update and all is good. Thanks for the help!
Thanks for reporting back.
Summary: trying to update to 5.0 crashes on restart → 5.0 crashes with Friendly Gaming Simplifier Extension
Is that an extension with binary components or only html/xul/JS ?
The Latter.
The latest version of Aurora does not crash when the latest version FGS extension is installed
