User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:5.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0 Build ID: 20110615151330 Steps to reproduce: I tried to update Firefox (going to Informations). Actual results: It told me it was updated (but I run the 5.0, not the 5.0.1). Expected results: It should tell me 5.0.1 is available for download.

But it lets me download it from the official site for Windows, too!
As said on the newsgroup, yo can download from the website, however, to save bandwidth there is no reason for you to install it, and so the automatic updater doesn't offer the update to windows or linux users. There are two bugs that affected mac osx lion, they had no impact on other os's?
verified 5.0.1 fixed only 2 bugs that only happen on Mac OS X. Offering on the automatic download would be just a waste of bandwidth.
