Description Yaroslav 2011-07-23 03:15:58 PDT
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; WOW64) AppleWebKit/534.30 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/12.0.742.122 Safari/534.30

Steps to reproduce:

YouTube Service subscription emails (in russian language) include non-standard charset name "koi8_r" (instead of "koi8-r") both in subject and body parts:

Content-Type: multipart/alternative; boundary="===============1889938357=="
MIME-Version: 1.0
Subject: =?koi8_r?b?Q29tbWVudCBwb3N0ZWQgb24gIk5va2lhIE45MDAgLSDP08/Cxc7Oz9PUySDJ?=
From: YouTube Service <>

Content-Type: text/plain; charset="koi8_r"
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

Actual results:

Thunderbird does not detect this charset automatically. Cyrillic characters displayed as diamonds with question mark inside. Subject displays nothing but two diamonds.

Expected results:

It would be nice if Thunderbird recognized this non-standard spelling as koi8-r charset.

Comparison to other email client programs:
+ Google Mail detects and displays such mails correctly (both subject and body)
+ Microsoft Windows Vista Mail detects and displays such mails correctly (both subject and body)
