Steps to reproduce:

1. Open enough tabs to trigger tab overflow.
2. Go to the first tab in the tab bar. Create a new tab by middle-clicking a link on the page.


Actual results:

New tab is created with no animation.


Expected results:

New tab is created with animation.
OS: Other → Windows 7
Hardware: All → x86
Version: 8 Branch → 7 Branch
I initially filed this for the 8 branch, but upon downgrading to Aurora in an attempt to avoid this bug found that it applies to the 7 branch as well.
Can you still reproduce? If you can, please reopen this bug.
