Description

6 years ago
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:6.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/6.0
Build ID: 20110713171652

Steps to reproduce:

My proxy details are set in the system Internet configuration. I have no issues at all with other browsers like Internet Explorer or Google Chrome. They're properly identifying the settings but Firefox frequently ask me for credentials.

Actual results:

Asking for credentials.

Expected results:

Should not ask for credentials

Does adjusting/playing with the Proxy Settings within Firefox make a Difference?
E.g. setting to "use system proxy settings"?

=> Options/Advanced/Network/Settings

No, they don't. I have the same problem. I have some documentation of some of the things I've tried at MozillaZine here: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=2505071&p=12172085#p12172085

Basically, it's not an add-on problem, it's not a profile problem and it's not a proxy settings problem. Current version of Firefox does not have the problem, nor does IE. Beta and Aurora Firefox versions do. I'm currently using Aurora as my default browser.

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help you resolve this problem.

Please do not highjack this Report in this Case then since you're describing a possible Regression of Beta (15) against Release 14 and this Report was filed against Firefox 6.

Instead please file a new Report and mention its Number here and/or CC me - thanks :-)

Usually, people get upset when you create a duplicate entry of the same problem.

I'd be happy to create a new entry. Saves me the search.
