User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:5.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0 Build ID: 20110622105328 Steps to reproduce: 1. Find a message with a superscript (e.g. 2^31). 2. Select a portion of the message which includes the superscript. 3. Click "reply" Actual results: The quoted text included in the reply shows "231" instead of "2^31". Expected results: The quoted text should match the original message source.
This is WFM with Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; rv:7.0a2) Gecko/20110811 Thunderbird/7.0a2. Paolo do you see the same issue if Thunderbird is started in -safe-mode ?
No, it still doesn't work for me in safe mode. Just to double check, you are seeing superscripts in the message window, and you are seeing carets in the reply window?

Ok, I'll try 7.0 alphas next week. Another note---it works when replying to the whole email, only "reply and quote selection" is broken.
That's how I tested.
Fixed in 10.0.
