I've tried it on Nexus S and Galaxy 10.1 and there's no app.
Apps are currently undiscoverable unless you're aware that they are added to the Android home-screen shortcuts area under the name "Nightly Web Apps". It doesn't help that there's no indication of successful install.

Duping this as the bug to notify the user of successful installation (bug 670677)

Thanks! I would never know that. Ever.

However, if I try to add the shortcut, "Nightly Web Apps" is empty. Re-opening since the "app" is not created there.

Still seeing this?
Is there a specific change expected to fix it?
Dietrich - What exactly happens when you "Install as App"? Do you see the dialog? Can you look for errors in the console? (about:config and set "devtools.*" to true)
This feature is gone now, right?
Yes, it's gone
