The installer is currently so narrow, that the whole path is currently not visible - this is annoying. The window with should be at least wide enough to show the full default path plus 50% in case a user chooses a longer directory tree. Better would be to also show the full path as tooltip when hovered over, or to wrap the tree onto multiple lines.
It probably depends on your screen resolution and font size (large/small). Also, I install Mozilla to: C:\Program Files\Communication\Mozilla which is a bit longer. This bug would nicely take care of all screen resolition/fontsize and user defined path problems. It is very usettling to not be able to visually confirm that the path is correct before starting an installation onto ones harddrive.
I can't see how this is supposed to be a major loss of functionality? If you really need to know where in your tree it will install, click the "Browse..." button. Downgrading severity to minor and marking NEW.
over to curt.
Seamonkey and Firefox are using a new NSIS based installer. resolving this old bug, please reopen if you still get this with the new installer
