674367 - no useful error trace about LDAP bind failing

While diagnosing AP LDAP issues in env, we came across an issue where LDAP bind err=49 (invalid credentials) results in no useful logs from AP:

This is the total sum of logs available.  Actual message logged, "an unknown error occurred".

At this point, account portal chugs along and we're not going to mess with it before it goes away (barring emergency).
