This message is malformed as it puts the attachment PW36_27_07_11.pdf into a multipart/related context without assigning a Context-ID to it or referring to it. The fix in bug 351224 no longer makes such "wrong" attachments accessible in the attachment pane, thus it looks like a regression in Thunderbird. However, a workaround has been established in bug 602718 to resolve the structure of such a malformed message and to present any available message parts as attachments.

Sorry, but it does not work. 

i do - like this:
"A hidden preference mailnews.display.show_all_body_parts_menu is provided, which – if set to "true" – provides a new menu item View → Message Body As → All Body Parts."

...create a new bollean key: mailnews.display.show_all_body_parts_menu -> true an restart Thunderbird 5 (german language)

but there is not menu added...

Yes, that's a subsection within "Thunderbird 8.0" but I didn't explicitly say here that it won't be available earlier than that. The patch contains string changes for said menu, hence most likely it can't go in earlier than that.

If the schedule holds, the 8.0 release should be some time early November.

Hm - what would you suggest. I receive every day many messages with this problem - is there a workaround to solve this problem or a thunderbird-addon? (...downgrade to Version 3.x ?)

Even if the back-end code for the patch were allowed to check in for 6.0 or 7.0, you'd have to toggle three hidden preferences to emulate what the menu is doing. I'm not aware of any add-on working around the issue, especially given that it's binary code which is deep in the mail/news core.

For the time being, your options are to go back to TB 3.1.11 (a TB 3.1.12 update matching 6.0 should come mid August, but I don't know to which extent that branch will still be supported after that), then wait until 8.0 comes out with the fix; use the webmail interface of your provider for such hidden attachments; and/or, notify the sender that they are producing bad messages, fixing it at the source.

...now - i have installed version 8 of Thunderbird but the same problem exist. Thunderbisrd don't show attachments for some emails.

This is still a duplicate. As mentioned in the other bug, you'll need to toggle mailnews.display.show_all_body_parts_menu and then go to View -> Message Body As -> All Body Parts for the messages in question.

Making this work without messing with settings is bug 674473.
