Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.2; WOW64; rv:2.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0
Build ID: 20110318052756
Steps to reproduce:
I have enabled Startup option "When Firefox starts : Show my windows and tabs from last time".
I have around 10 tabs open from previous close.
After launching firefox, open a new blank tab (Ctrl+T) and type in the search box or address box in Navigation Toolbar. This should be done when pages are still loading in other tabs.
Actual results:
Typed texts do not appear in search box or address box in Navigation Toolbar. This continues even after all pages in other tabs are loaded. I only can type after I close the blank tab and open a new one.
Expected results:
I think it is possible that thread handling Navigation Toolbar is temporarily locked by other tabs in which page is loading from previous time.
Is it that single thread is running Navigation toolbar for all tabs open and there is lock from previous tab opened?
Just guesses.
Sorry, in the expected results section, by mistake I mentioned from developer's perspective what has happened, rather than expected behavior.
The expected results is : Typed texts should appear in the respective boxes of Navigation Toolbar.

Firefox 4 is deprecated. Are you able to reproduce the issue with a current version?
https://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode?

How about with a new, empty profile?

OS: Other → Windows 7
Hardware: All → x86_64
Also tried in safe-mode, the same issue is reproducible.
OS: Windows 7 → Windows XP

I could not reproduce the issue on the latest Firefox Nightly (FX8):
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:8.0a1) Gecko/20110802 Firefox/8.0a1

Can you try to see if the issue is reproducible on a Nightly build. Maybe it was something that was fixed since the release of FX5.

Also, if possible could you attach a screen video of the steps you perform to reproduce the issue? Thanks
The issue seems to be solved in latest version (22.0). Hence, changing the status.
Thanks.
