When long tapping a link, to open it in a new tab. It is often difficult to hit links with my fat fingers on those tiny links.
In current builds, I'm hitting text selection, which is annoying, because I want to hit the link, not get involved in text selection.

Perhaps the link hitting code in Fennec should be a little bit more fuzzier, so it's easier to reach?

I've noticed that the stock Android browser seems to do this. It seems easier to tap on a link, even though you haven't quite tapped on it.
We have some prefs to control the search area used for taps. You might try playing with them: "browser.ui.touch.top", "browser.ui.touch.left", etc.
Mass resolving XUL Fennec I filed to WORKSFORME. If someone still cares about this bug, please reopen.
