Details
Currently we already switch to https in the AAQ process when a user types in a question and hits "Ask this". Instead https should start at the next step when none of the solutions were deemed useful and we ask the user to create an account.
The later we switch to https the more metrics we can gather since tools like site spect don't work on https sites.

I'm guessing you mean WebTrends, not SiteSpect. If we can figure out why WebTrends doesn't work over HTTPS (it should, it works for AMO, the requests go out, etc) then we shouldn't fix this bug.

I meant SiteSpect, but yeah, of course we should also get data from https sites for Webtrends, especially if AMO does so already.

Seems like webtrends can handle HTTPS, so we can leave this as is.
