To verify a bug fix, we need the redis instance that is configured for karma (see REDIS_BACKENDS['karma'] in settings_local.py for support-release.allizom.org) to be shutdown/disconnected/disabled while the Bug 673542 is verified.

Done.
This is just 'service redis-support-stage-karma stop' on mrapp-stage04... noting this here so it'll be easy to figure out how to start it back up after the verification is done. :)
I will leave this bug open and assigned to me... please let me know when you'd like it turned back on.

Weird, no errors are being reported on our monitor page: https://support-release.allizom.org/services/monitor
It looks like redis is still running fine?

Ah, good catch. It did indeed stop, but puppet started it right back up a bit later. I've stopped it again, and also stopped puppet on this machine (and temp-disabled the cron job that auto-restarts puppet).

Bug 673542 has been verified. The Redis instance can be started back up. Thanks!

Temp changes in comemnt 1 and comment 3 undone. This redis instance is back online, the monitor page shows the proper status, and puppet is working normally. Thanks!
