User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.0; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 Build ID: 20110413222027 Steps to reproduce: I installed Firefox 5.0 as it said there was an update so I did it like I have all the way since starting to use Firefox however when I installed it for some reason it would not open anything so I had to reinstall Firefox 4.0 or 4.01 I don't remember and that version works fine? So I don't want to reinstall 5.0 but it keeps saying an update is available how do I stop Firefox from showing that update? Actual results: Firefox 5.0 would not install properly I could not use it for anything Expected results: I should have been able to install 5.0 and everything work as it has in the past many many updates ago. But for some reason my laptop won't work with 5.0
There's not much to go on here. I suspect that you have some kind of firewall software running ? Some of these needs to be told to allow the new application to access the Internet. Updating an application (or re-installing it) doesn't automatically grant the new version the same permissions as the old one.
