Hello, Windows Vista. Firefox 4.0.1. I have many pages open, quiet. In a new tab, I go to http://rishida.net/utils/subtags/ . I choose List : Languages (takes a while!) : List. Indeed, loading takes a while. But Firefox gets unresponding in this time : Windows displays Firefox as not responding, and I can't use Firefox outside of the loading tab. During loading, I should be able to read and scroll another tab, that is already loaded. But I cannot. I tried several times : same unresponding behaviour. And what if the servers keeps writing and writing and writing - which is possible - ? Firefox and all its open pages get **** up ? When the page is loading, please make the rest of the browser responsive. Thanks, Nicolas

Confirmed on Nightly -> interface is locked up while the large page loads. This is a case covered by https://wiki.mozilla.org/Electrolysis/Firefox

Something must be done about this bug! It affects firefox for 4 years! It also seems to affect loading performance
note: this happens on every page loaded. If it takes time to load it the problem is more notable

That is an expected thing for a single process application where the rendering engine itself renders the UI and the webpage. This will only change with different processe3s and that is covered by bug 516518
