User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:5.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/5.0.1 Build ID: 20110707182747 Steps to reproduce: I don't really know, one time thunderbird and sunbird were working, the next time I rebooted they did not work.I tried uninstalling and also searching the registry and removing entries then reinstalling but all I get is the message "Thunderbird/sunbird is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Thunderbird/sunbird process, or restart your system."The restart does not work so any suggestions or even better a proper removal tool

The registry entries doesn't matter. Uninstalling Thunderbird should remove everything from c:\program files\Mozilla Thunderbird but the your data directory with all your mails aren't deleted. The profile is stored under your user directory of your OS. You can create an additional profile for testing: http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/profiles

I have tried running thunderbird after reinstalling but it will NOT run.I get the message "Thunderbird is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Thunderbird process, or restart your system."Is there an answer or something I can remove from the registry to allow thunderbird to run?
Please try a new profile (just for testing): http://support.mozillamessaging.com/kb/Profiles
results? (In reply to Matthias Versen (Matti) from comment #3) > Please try a new profile (just for testing): > http://support.mozillamessaging.com/kb/Profiles
